My Mother has always been a big supporter of my photography, but when it comes to me taking photos of her it is difficult. She usually will put her hands up or make a face and tell me that I have to pay her first.
On this particular trip to our community museum's restaurant with my wife Julie, Mom and my sister and brother-in-law I got another chance. I will often take my camera with when going to the museum, and while sitting in the restaurant I couldn't help notice how amazing the light was and so very discreetly started shooting. Mom did notice me shooting, but thanks to my sister, Marcie distracting her I managed to get some good shots!

Time Up
Another one of those nights that I can't sleep, so at 6:00 AM I decided that I would head out with the camera and see if
I could find something to shoot. I grabbed my gear and made my way out of the house as quiet as possible so as not to wake my wife. Drove to the nearest Tim Hortons picked up a coffee put on some Tom Petty and headed north out of town.
It seems that whenever I head out for an early morning shoot I am always drawn to Giroux and this was no exception. The condition were great with all the hoar frost and I spent a good hour out there shooting but it was soon time to head home to make my wife breakfast. As I started back I came across my favourite stand of trees and this fog which was starting to develop around them. I looked at my watch, not much time but I figured I would go for it. I trudged through the deep snow and got as close as I could with the time I had and started shooting. It really was beautiful the fog the hoar frost and those amazing white poplar. I had to tear myself away, because my time there was up.
